Welcome to the Gold Coast City Choir. We have the largest mixed voice community choir in the region singing four part harmony, with no auditions required. We have been actively involved in the Gold Coast community since 1969.

Conducted by our Director of Music Ruth Gurner (music educator, singer, motivator and inspirational mentor). Ruth has directed and conducted the choir since 1995. She is a well-qualified musician with extensive experience in singing, performing, conducting, lecturing, teaching and training. The choir accompanist is the well known and highly accomplished Marie Nicholson

Heritage Songs of Queensland

The Gold Coast City Choir has this week launched a CD called "Heritage Songs of Queensland" including a stunning new arrangement of "Waltzing Matilda".

The songs are old and new, the most recent compositions being "In the High Hills" (meaning Mt Tamborine) by Raymond Curtis and "Waltzing at Cloudland" by Gloria Salter.

The Gold Coast City Choir goes a little country

Dine on sumptuous food while listening to the exciting sound of The Gold Coast City Choir plus special artists ( PJ and Melanie Creamer Future Native Diamantina Drover) as they go a little bit country.

Performing popular country music, from some of the greats such as, John Denver, Dolly Parton, Slim Dusty, Kenny Rogers plus songs from the choir’ latest CD Heritage Songs of Queensland and more.

What a great year ahead for the Gold Coast City Choir! If you have ever fancied yourself as a singer or want to learn to sing in a great social environment then now is the time to join this community choir. Established in 1969, the Choir regularly performs a diverse range of choral music which has proved extremely popular with audiences throughout the years. The Choir is directed and conducted by the talented Ruth Gurner and currently features 70 voices of various ages and walks-of-life from all areas of the Gold Coast. Add your voice to the mix!
