Welcome to the Gold Coast City Choir. We have the largest mixed voice community choir in the region singing four part harmony. We have been actively involved in the Gold Coast community since 1969.

Conducted by our Director of Music Ruth Gurner (music educator, singer, motivator and inspirational mentor). Ruth has directed and conducted the choir since 1995. She is a well-qualified musician with extensive experience in singing, performing, conducting, lecturing, teaching and training. The choir accompanist is the well known and highly accomplished Marie Nicholson

Heritage Songs of Queensland

The Gold Coast City Choir’s latest CD "Heritage Songs of Queensland" includes a stunning new arrangement of "Waltzing Matilda".

The songs are old and new, the most recent compositions being "In the High Hills" (meaning Mt Tamborine) by Raymond Curtis and "Waltzing at Cloudland" by Gloria Salter.

What another exciting year ahead:
This Easter 2011 the Gold Coast City Choir will be performing the Mozart Requiem and we invite singers to join us in presenting this wonderful work. In the next half of the year we will perform Vivaldi's "Gloria.

MasterClass

The Gold Coast City Choir is opening its doors the last Tuesday night rehearsal each month to the public. For $5 you can come along and learn to sing, present and find out about music at a Master Class run by Music Director Ruth Gurner.

You are welcome from 7.00pm to 10.00pm to come and listen to the choir as they warm up, rehearse and then a few choir members volunteer each month to be involved in the special master classes. Then you can witness the expertise of Ruth as a teacher (MA, BMus, AUA, LMusA, IYTA) and learn the basics of singing and musicianship with the possibility later of joining the choir if you so desire.

Certainly you are welcome to just watch and eavesdrop on the fascinating process and then socialize with us at the halfway break and have a cup of tea and biscuits. This is a special offering to the public.

We are presently rehearsing Autumn Musical Sunday Afternoon at Church of Good Shepherd 4 Tarrant Rd. Mudgeeraba .

Come and have some fun learning about singing, that healthy, inspiring pursuit that everyone benefits from and is readily available to all.
